Welcome

I am pleased you are expressing interest in these Assistant Director roles in the city of Hull. Our vision is to make Hull an inspiring place in which to live and work and the future of our children lies at the heart of that ambition. I am seeking to build a team who will work with partners to embrace the challenges and capitalise on the opportunities we have in the city to unleash the huge potential of our children and young people.

We are looking for two experienced, resilient senior leaders to be part of the Senior Team leading a significant transformation programme.

The Children, Young People and Families Plan lays out our Vision for Children and Young People and how we are working in partnership to achieve it.

Raising educational attainment, particularly at the Early Years Foundation stage and Key Stage 4 is a priority.  We are working with Education leaders to tackle this through The Learning Partnership, established last year. The CCG and the Council are also working closely with the Learning Partnership and children, young people and parents on improving outcomes for children and young people with SEND.

We are working with the support of our DfE Improvement Adviser and two partners in practice on rapid improvement of services to vulnerable children, following the result of the Ofsted ILACS inspection in January 2019.  The multi-agency safeguarding arrangements have been developed with a focus on practice and research and current priorities aligned with the improvement plan.

If you have the skills and passion to make a difference for children and families, I’d like to hear from you and look forward to receiving your application.

Alison Murphy
Director of Children, Young People and Family Services
